How does Supple work?

Unfortunately at the time of this review the official website is down due to it being under construction. So instead of saying anything useful about this product, they suggest calling their customer service line and they also provide hours of operation.

From looking at the 3rd party websites, it appears that this is used to help prevent fatigue, weakness, back pain, gout, and fibromyalgia. It’s provided in a drink to make it easy to absorb and to make it more pleasant than a tasteless supplement.

The main ingredients are both the Chondroitin and Glucosamine which are free of any shellfish. When used as directed the added nutrients can help reduce inflammation through antioxidant support.

With many brands to choose from we simplified the search for the best joint health relief by making a top 10 list.

Top Benefits: Some customers may appreciate the fruity beverage, and they provide both a powder and a ready to drink version. Both Chondroitin and Glucosamine are well-studied and they can help boost joint health.

Negatives: Official website is down, leaving 3rd party websites to make unverified claims about its use. The company has also been poorly regarded by several customers.  Some may not like having to take in extra sugar.  Notable FTC issues have raised concern.

Who makes this supplement?

Supple LLC are the official manufacturers and through researching them online it was shown that their contact information is:

Address: 785 Cty Rd CB Suite 100. Neenah. WI 54956

Phone Number: (866) 219-6371

Email:  Unknown.

The FTC filed a major suit against the company after it as found they lied about the effectiveness this could have against arthritis and Fibromyalgia. Both of which were never proven to be true. They made these claims through various avenues including social media, radio, TV, and other form of advertisements.

The FTC concludes that it was unproven and that it could not provide the relief claimed. This forced a $150 million dollar settlement.

Furthermore they have a total of 17 complaints on the Better Business Bureau website. The reason they were outed according to the BBB is because:

“consumers allege they were unaware… auto-billed”

This meant that many said they did not know a free trial was for 14 days as I was never made clear. These customers often said that they were misled and that it was not fair they were charged so much money without their consent. Many were clearly frustrated and they often said they would not do business with them again.

What’s inside of it and are there side effects?

All the information about the ingredients is only available second hand from 3rd party websites.  It’s not quite clear if this is up to date or if any changes have since been made. Here’s some of what is claimed to be inside of Supple, but it’s unknown if this is the same for the powdered and ready to drink version:

Glucosamine HCL: This is called an amino sugar and the human body naturally creates this, it can also be taken from seashells. The version added to Supple is free from shellfish. This is often mixed with Chondroitin to help reduce joint pain and prevent osteoarthritis.  You’ll often see this in some form within a joint health supplement due to its clinical study backing.

Chondroitin Sulfate (bovine):  This provides structure to collagen and it is effective at reducing the breakdown of heathy cartilage. This specific version added to Supple is extracted from cow tissue. While this is common, it’s important to make sure that the extraction processed reduces the risk for contamination.

Pantothenic Acid: Vitamin B5 is useful for the proper intake of macronutrients, and it can be used to help boost immune function.

Sugar: An easy to digest carbohydrate that is used to sweeten the formula. This should be kept limited as much as possible since high amounts of it can potentially lead to inflammation.  Arthithis.org has stated that sugar can:

“trigger the release of inflammatory messengers”

While sugar can help improve the flavor of these beverages, it could have been replaced with a sweetener like stevia which does not have any grams of sugar but which can still make it taste like sugar.

Vitamin B12: Important vitamin that helps regulates the nerves and brain function. This also is important for making sure fatty acids and amino acids are properly regulated. When used in combination with other ingredients it can ensure that the body is working as it should.

Magnesium: Useful mineral that maintains blood pressure, bone strength and which can help reduce inflammation. When not sufficient in the diet it can affect the levels of inflammation.

The supplements in this list were considered the very best for the improvement and regulation of joint health.

What’s good about Supple?

Some of the ingredients in this can potentially help reduce the risk for inflammation and overall joint pain. The added Glucosamine and Chondroitin are common in joint health supplements because of their combined potential benefits.

You also get the option to make it as strong as you like by getting it in a powdered form, or you can have it ready to go by drinking it straight from a can.  This convenience can make it easy to remember to take this supplement, and the fruity taste might be preferable to some.

There’s also a high percentage rating for most of the vitamins and minerals which the body needs to maintain. Many of these nutrients can make it easier to absorb the entire formula.

What’s bad about Supple?

The biggest problem with this product is the fact that the creators lied about the possible benefits this could provide. Because of this it caused a major $150 million dollar lawsuit which the FTC issued.

There were also many consumers who felt cheated and many said that they were dissatisfied with the company. This became such a big issue that the Better Business Bureau called them out because customers often said they were unaware of the company enforcing any type of automatic billing plan. Many were confused to see sudden charges on their account without due warning.

Yet another major issue is the fact they do not have any information available on the official website, it’s currently left for 3rd party resellers to make all the health claims about this formula. You can’t know for certain what to expect and it’s unclear if the company is still making this product fresh. With such a major multimillion dollar fine its unknown if they are still in business.

This link will help you understand what the top 10 supplements are for joint health and why.

What do consumers think about Supple?

Here are some opinions from customers:

“for the first month there was no effect but I’ll continue to use it”

“felt a difference in my joints. Taste wasn’t too bad either”

“not at all effective and the taste is very artificial. Waste of time and money”

“Overpriced for the kinds of effects it gave”

Conclusion

There’s just no way to know for certain if this is going to be a safe and reliable supplement. The business behind it has had serious issues due to making unverified claims which were called out by the FTC, and for enrolling consumers into an auto-billing plan. The creators have officially stated that their website is being remodeled, but it might be true that they only say this to cover themselves while they pay back their lawsuit.

Many of these ingredients are fairly standard in the average joint health supplement so it’s difficult to see why this would be preferable. Due to the unquestionable company history, it does not seem like a reliable product. Reviews on its effects were also mixed and whether or not the flavor was good depended on who you asked.

Overall we much favored Flexitrinol since it is provided by a reputable company and the ingredients can help provide numerous benefits. Check out our review of Flexitrinol to learn about what made it the best and what consumers had to say about it.
