How does Baxyl work?

A double blind placebo controlled study was performed on this. Because it comes in a liquid formula they add that this can be effectively absorbed and all while being more potent than a pill.

One study was performed by the University of Western Ontario and it showed an improvement of cartilage and bone in mice. Another study also on rats but this time with dogs as well showed the key active ingredient could lead to:

“rapid absorption”

One teaspoon twice daily is advised and after 7 days only half a teaspoon twice day are recommended. Each container has a 36 day supply when used as directed. No added animal extracts or common allergens of any kind are used.

There are also many studies that the official website mentions which show what kind of affects the active ingredient can provide.

The highest rated joint health supplements can improve joint health and increase overall movement.

Top Benefits: An easy to absorb and high dosage active ingredient are included. Many studies have also been performed to show how it is absorbed and its potential benefits.

Negatives: With only one active ingredient this may not be enough to provide lasting support. 2 preservatives are added.

Who makes this supplement?

Cogent Solutions Group, LLC produces Baxyl and to contact them they provide the following:

Address: PO Box 11686

Lexington, KY 40577

Phone Number: (888) 521-8867

They do not offer a money back return policy. Information about the company is limited but there was one complaint on Rip Off Report.com related to what was described as “criminal activity”.

In 2024 the FDA sent them a warning after inspecting their website. The reason they were called out was due to the claims marketing. They said this was:

“not generally recognized as safe and effective”

Because they made claims which would treat it more as a cure all instead of a supplement, they were told to stop making unproven health claims that lacked science.

These joint health supplements made it to the top 10 list.

What’s inside of it and are there side effects?

MHB3 Hyaluronan: Patented version of hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally found in the body. This is naturally in bones, eyes, skin, cartilage, and many other soft tissues. Hyaluronic acid will naturally degrade as a human grows older, and this can lead to damage in the joints.

A total of 15 grams are found in the average person and it is useful at healing skin.  It will sometimes be directly injected into the knee to help prevent osteoarthritis.

Web MD has stated this is:

“LIKELY SAFE when taken by mouth”

It is generally well-tolerated and unlikely to cause any issues when used in controlled amounts. There are also a lot of clinical studies performed on this ingredient to help show how it works, what it can do, and what kinds of joint health benefits are possible.  This is likely the reason why it is often added to similar brands.

This patented form isn’t well explained by the company as far as what difference it has to other forms of Hyaluronic acid. It’s known that it is more concentrated, but they fail to explain their manufacturing process or what safety measures are taken.

See our top 10 list to get an idea of what makes a proper joint health supplement; these brands were favorited overall.

Potassium Sorbate: An antimicrobial ascorbic acid extract that is naturally found in certain foods. In this form it is more than likely produced synthetically. When used in its concentrated form in large amounts it can help preserve the other ingredients. You’ll often see this included in cosmetics and certain processed foods.

This can be a potential irritant to the eyes and skin. Other possible side effects can result when taken in excess such as:

  • Vomiting, indigestion, and nausea.

Sodium Benzoate: Common preservative added to liquids to stop the spread of bacteria and fungi. The FDA does consider this to be Generally Recognized as Safe in controlled amounts. When it is mixed alongside ascorbic acid a form of vitamin C, it can potentially form the hazardous benzene which acts as a carcinogen. It’s impossible to tell if they add it in a sufficient amount where it would interact negatively.

Some symptoms are possible including:

  • Organ issues, heart failure, and skin related side effects.
  • Seizure, blood sugar related problems, and mood swings.

Sodium Chloride: The scientific way of saying salt. It is a natural preservative and is important in controlled amounts. Excess sodium chloride may be hazardous however. Judging from the supplements facts list it does not appear that any significant amount of salt is included.

What’s good about Baxyl?

No common allergens such as gluten, starch, soy, or any artificial ingredients of any kind are included. There’s also a patented version of hyaluronic acid included in a high amount to help increase the overall absorption. This ingredient is important for the improvement of overall joint fluid, and it can be supplemented to prevent the breakdown of healthy tissue.

They also make sure to make it vegan friendly, and you can read all about the main active ingredient on the official website. A great breakdown is offered to explain how it works, and they even cite a few clinical reviews found on the internet.

Only a small amount is needed after the body adjusts, with only a full teaspoon per day.

What’s bad about Baxyl?

Only once active ingredient is used and although it’s added in a concentrated form, the same basic extract is naturally in many other brands.  You also have to take in 2 kinds of preservatives which in high amounts may be potentially dangerous.

This basic formula may not be sufficient enough to really help users who are suffering from real joint pain. With just one active ingredient it’s asking for a lot of support from something so common to many similar brands.

The FDA also had a long list of issues with this company for making false health claims about their products. Issues like this are what make it hard to trust that the company is telling the truth when it comes to Baxyl’s effectiveness.

Even though there is a 36 day supply per bottle, at $39.95 this is much more expensive than other more well-rounded formulas with the same basic ingredient. You can find the basic Hyaluronic acid extract by itself for a reduced cost elsewhere.

What do consumers think about Baxyl?

“Didn’t work like I wanted it to, no relief on my end even though I took even more than what was advised”

“I think it works splendid it got rid of some of my arthritis pain I had which was really bothering me for some time”

“Feel like I can move more freely now that I take this. There’s a lot more movement in my joints”

“Alright but I’ll stick to my joint pain pills since they work a lot better. Not for me”

Conclusion

One high quality ingredient is used in this formula and it’s included in heavy dosage strength, but it’s not as comprehensive as other brands. This can help support joint health but other solutions offer a more balanced formula which can have even more benefits. This is expensive when you consider this fact. There’s also some preservatives included which are never a sign of a quality product. It’s best not to use any preservatives to prevent the potential for unwanted side effects.

The company has come under criticism for making unproven health claims about their supplements in the past. This included major claims which would only be considered truthful if their supplements were going to cure illnesses. Because they were called out for these claims, there’s concern on whether or not they would be reliable.

The most well-rounded joint health solution available now is Flexitrinol. We reviewed it and noted that many consumers saw an improvement, and they also only add natural, studied, and highly-regarded ingredients. We have a detailed review available now where we help explain what is it about Flexitrinol that made it a top ranking brand.
